网页2D is “harder” because that’s where the skill is; it trains your eyes in nearly every discipline (lighting, colour, perspective, etc). 3D’s strength is the tool. Studios will hire a good 2D artist over a mediocre 3D artist even if the job is 3D; because letting the computer just “do its thing” is not good enough.

A Short Hike does this same thing, personally love the pixel style, but appreciated the off toggle in the settings too. Reminds me of the old donkey Kong games. That is very cool.

All are equally hard to make GOOD art. If you're willing to dedicate the time to learn and develop the skill, you should pick whichever one appeals to you most.
