They analyze the bank records and financial data and generate reports for the agents for their cases. How much cash deposited, withdrawn, credit card use, etc etc etc. It’s necessary, though not what I would say exciting work.

Most of the work sounded something like getting bank statements and other documents from a special agent and exporting the bank statements to excel and doing some analysis as well as looking through the other documents.

If you’re happy just working investigations and cases for the rest of your career at the analyst level with max GS13 level, then that’s probably fine for you.
