网页2017年10月29日 · The 6.75" shoots just as well as the 9" barrel, albeit even with the same suppressor it is slightly louder. Just barely enough to notice, but it is there. Also, if you do plan to suppress the 6.75" a direct thread, or a suppressor without a latch of some kind would be a better choice if you plan to remove it often.

So I called Sig Sauer to ask what thread pitch was on the MCX Legacy 300BLK I recently acquired with a 9" barrel. I was told it was 1/2x28. Is that typical? Most of the literature I could find shows the 300BLK versions having the typical 5/8x24 pitch.

网页2024年2月27日 · Go with the 11” first since 5.56 is cheaper to shoot then if you can buy a 9” 300 BLK complete upper. You’ll definitely want to suppress the 300 BLK. I would agree that it's best to start with 556 WIth my MCX I started backward and it wasn't as easy to find a barrel. Barrels are easy to find now, as are the guns.

网页2020年1月15日 · Both 300 blk and 5.56 utilize the same bolt but Sig wants to ensure you pair the barrel with the right bolt, which would have tapered lugs. Earlier versions (legacy models) didn’t have tapered lugs. I doubt the muzzle device is removable. Even if it is, 5.56 tends to be threaded for 1/2x28 and the 300 blk will consist of 5/8x24 threading.

I ended up with the MCX after having a disappointing experience with an IWI Galil ACE Gen II 5.56, which was so over-gassed it was tearing up ammo.
