Ador, the agency representing K-pop sensation NewJeans, has decided to extend its former CEO Min Hee-jin's role as board director while rejecting her reinstatement as the chief executive, despite a public appeal from the five NewJeans members.

NewJeans recently demanded that their label, HYBE subsidiary Ador, reappoint Min Hee-jin as CEO by today. Min was pushed out of that role last month after months of feuding with HYBE. Ador says it will reppoint Min as a director but not CEO.

HYBE sublabel ADOR announced their intent to reinstate Min Hee Jin as an internal director but rejected the request of girl group NewJeans for her reappointment as CEO. In a statement that was published by K-pop website Soompi,

Ador's decision leaves NewJeans with limited options. The group must either remain at Hybe under the leadership of the new Ador CEO Kim Ju-young, find legal grounds for contract violations to take action and part ways, or pay a substantial penalty to terminate its contract and work with Min outside of Ador.
