Two abandoned backpacks containing approximately 78 pounds of cocaine worth over $1.1 million were found near the Canadian border in Washington by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agents found 30 brick-like packages containing a white powdery substance in the backpacks.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized a hefty amount of cocaine near the Northern Border in Washington last week. A news release from CBP stated border patrol assigned to the Blaine Sector in Washington seized around 78 pounds of cocaine on December 19. The estimated value of the drugs comes to more than $1.1 million.

Agents found 30 brick-like packages of cocaine inside the backpacks, located in a wooded area in Washington near the U.S. border with Canada.
