LL Flooring, once North America's largest specialty seller of hardwood floors, is closing its doors after 30 years in business.

After securing a last-minute buyer, LL Flooring is reversing course on shutting down all of its stores. The hardwood flooring retailer formerly known as Lumber Liquidators signed an agreement with private equity firm F9 Investments for a sale of its business on Friday afternoon.

LL Flooring signed an agreement to sell 219 of its stores to F9 Investments, while the company's new owner says it will rebrand back to Lumber Liquidators.

Less than a month after filing Chapter 11, the company says it is “winding down operations” after failing to find a buyer.

The company, which changed its name in 2021 following controversies, will close its last four stores in Minnesota.
