Shoppers will be able to find Bed Bath & Beyond-branded products in stores again, at The Container Store locations.

If you wished the home department store Bed Bath & Beyond would make a comeback, you are in luck. Bed Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy and closed its stores in 2023, but the department store made the switch to sell products online after Overstock acquired the store’s intellectual property.

Kirkland’s will serve as the brick-and-mortar operator and licensee for Beyond’s stable of brands, which include Bed Bath & Beyond, Overstock and Zulily.

Mass. — Bed Bath & Beyond stores will be re-opening in a smaller format. Beyond Inc., which owns brands including Bed Bath & Beyond, Overstock, and Kirklands, said it’s investing $40 million in the Container Store Group.

Management at Beyond, Inc., the parent company of Bed Bath & Beyond and Overstock, is doubling down on brick-and-mortar retail despite the challenges facing the sector. This week, the company announced a $40 million preferred equity investment in The Container Store, which includes a licensing agreement.

Smaller format Bed Bath & Beyond locations will open across the U.S. more than a year after the retailer filed for bankruptcy.
