The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 may have begun with a muted buzz, however, as it progressed, it has gone on to become one of the closely-fought tournaments with as many as seven teams in contention for a place in the top four until the last two days before West Indies handed a shocker to England.

This year’s Women’s T20 World Cup, the ninth edition of the competition since its creation in 2009, is under way.Australia, reigning champions and winners of six of the last seven tournaments, began their defence with a six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in which Megan Schutt took three for 12 and Beth Mooney carried her bat for 43 to win with 34 balls to spare.
