The government has notified October 1 as the starting date for direct tax dispute resolution scheme Vivad Se Vishwas 2.0.

The Vivad se Vishwas scheme will come into effect from October 1, giving taxpayers a chance to resolve certain ongoing tax litigation cases.

This scheme will be applicable for appeals filed before Commissioner (Appeals), Dispute Resolution Panel (DRP), Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), High Court and Supreme Court. This scheme will be operational from October 1,
