Palm Desert's Living Desert Zoo and Gardens helped care for dozens of animals that were evacuated from the Line Fire near Big Bear Lake.

About 45 animals from the Big Bear Alpine Zoo were transported to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert last week as smoke from the 39,232-acre wildfire affected air quality.

After being evacuated on Thursday due to the threat of the Line Fire, zoo animals return to their home in Big Bear.
