A monkey discovered during a bizarre traffic stop in Madera County on Tuesday is getting a new home. Officials pulled over a 2022 Rolls Royce Ghost at around 8 p.m. for speeding on Highway 99, north of Avenue 17.

Discovered in the luxury car during the stop (and subsequent DUI arrest) were cannabis (enough to warrant another charge) and a baby spider monkey. Animal Control took over care for the monkey, who was found wearing a pink onesie and is believed to be 1 month old, according to the CHP.

CHP said the incident was happened Monday night along Highway 99, north of Avenue 17, in Madera County. An officer pulled over a Rolls Royce Ghost that was allegedly speeding, and ultimately arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and possession of cannabis for sale.
