On first appearances things seem to be positive and ‘normal’ for the three friends. Ghost Annie is buoyed by the fact she is finally starting to be seen by ordinary people.

Annie meets ghost Gilbert, a ghoulish Smiths fan who died in the mid-1980s. He loves being stuck in the past and relishes the bleakness of being a ghost.
