The Navy medic who helped pull injured sailors from the oily waters of Pearl Harbor after the 1941 Japanese attack on the naval base has died at the age of 103.

Warren “Red” Upton, the 105-year-old World War II US veteran who was the oldest living survivor of the 1941 Japanese surprise bombing of Pearl Harbor, died on Christmas Day, according to Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors,

Harry Chandler was a Navy corpsman in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941, when Japan attacked the Pearl Harbor Navy base. He spent the day helping the injured.

Warren Upton, the oldest living survivor of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, and the last living survivor of the USS Utah, has died at the age of 105.
