His bedroom, located on the third floor, is decorated in styles inspired by ancient Japan, Korea and Ryukyuan culture, with walls adorned with vintage textiles.

From 1868 he fought in the army and later became a battalion commander. In 1874 he fought the Takasago people in Taiwan, holding them responsible for the deaths of Ryukyuan people in a sea disaster.
