Born in Chicago in 1941, Capodice turned to acting after military service in South Korea in the 1960s. His first television role was in the daytime soap “Ryan’s Hope,” where he appeared in six episodes as Lloyd Lord, Y!Entertainment said. Later, in the 1990s, he appeared in six episodes of “General Hospital.”

John Capodice, a character actor who accrued dozens of credits on the big and small screens, including “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “General Hospital” and “Seinfeld,” died Dec. 30, according to an obituary posted on the website for Pizzi Funeral Home in Northvale, New Jersey. He was 83. No cause of death has been disclosed.
