Julius Randle thought his visit to the Bronx on Wednesday was only to celebrate the groundbreaking of a permanent building for the Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School. But the Dallas native and Plano Prestonwood Christian graduate was surprised to learn he was part of the celebration.

The court at the nation’s first high school with a curriculum designed around a career in basketball will be named for New York Knicks All-Star Julius Randle.

Expectations for the Knicks haven’t been this high in over a decade, and while it’ll take the full roster, Julius Randle will be the X-factor.
