A Universal LNB has a switchable local oscillator frequency of 9.75/10.60 GHz to provide two modes of operation: low band reception (10.70–11.70 GHz) and high band reception (11.70–12.75 GHz). The local oscillator frequency is switched in response to a 22 kHz signal superimposed on the supply voltage from the connected receiver.
The local oscillator frequencies of 9.75 and 10.6 GHz are now acknowledged standards for universal lnbs, and all digital satellite receivers with the DVB logo should support them. Some (usually the more expensive) receivers support other local oscillator frequencies, so strict adherence to these frequency values may not be absolutely essential.

2014年7月14日 · A universal LNB gets you more frequencies than a standard, but you have to dedicate your 22khz tone control to the LNB and you can't use it for other things, like multi-switches or tone switches.
