2020年7月10日 · 16" trailer tires 10 ply E vs 14ply G. Ive got a 14K trailer. I dont max it out by any stretch, max load is 9K on it. It came with 235/80/16 E rated tires. I go through tires pretty often, mostly due to running down gravel roads, etc (think road to meadow lake). Spoke with manufacturer who said I need to go with a 14ply G rated tire.

2010年8月1日 · Call JEGS and ask for "Crager Black soft-8" 397 series. 15" x 7" are only $41.99 each. 15" x 8" are $42.99 each. See if they can get them in 8 lug. You'll need to know if it is the metric pattern, or the "old" style inch pattern. White spokes are the Crager Nomad-I, 310 series. 15" x 7" are $39.99 each and the 15" x 8" are $43.99 each.

2009年4月21日 · The last ST tires I bought were 225/75/15 in a load range D. I put them on a tandem axle trailer after having used car tires on it for years. there is a reason they make "trailer" tires they work better. The trailer pulls easier with ST tires on it and they last longer. I bought 4 radial ST's and it was less than $70 per tire mounted and balanced.

That was common on bias ply tire of the past which are rare to find even on a trailer today. I don’t think I have seen a trailer sold in years with a bias ply tire.

2016年6月13日 · I bought a set of 14.5 14 ply cheapo amazon special biasplys for my flatbed trailer. 1200 or so highway miles on them so far, longest trips being around 350 miles at a time doing 65-75 mph no issues yet. Around here you could get a tandem 5 lug boat trailer with tires for $350-500 if you look hard enough...

Back in the day when radials were starting to become popular on big rigs and their trailers the tire manufacturers (Michelins, etc)recommended replacing bias with radials from back to front. Starting with rear most trailer axle and working forward as the bias tires wore out.
