C10 vs C25 Shielding Gas for MIG - HardlineCrawlers
Jan 5, 2012. Messages. 534. May 5, 2020. #4. Apparently, Miller recommends C25 for "normal" mig welding of steel, but C10 for "pulse mode". I've never welded in pulse mode or used anything but C25 gas. I read somewhere that C10 cost more and was harder to find.

yep, like mac said, its all fine with C25 just strait Co2 and acetilean, need to be upright. the Co2 can be caried sideways then stood up and used almost right away, the acet. is the one with the fiber fill and needs to be alowed to set upright for atleast 3 Hrs befor use. the stand and settle time is a lil hazzy as the the exact time some say longer some say less depending on its sideways ...

C-25 (75% Argon/25% CO2) or 100% CO2 are the recommended shielding gases for "short-arc" transfer. A globule of molten metal forms on the end of the wire. When it's fed and makes contact with the work piece, it forms a "short circuit." The high current created blasts the globule from the wire into the molten crater.

03-28-2005, 05:54 PM. If you're talking regulator (unrestricted low pressure outlet) vs. flowguage/meter (.032 orfice in dischsrge) I think I'd start around 6 PSI. That should be about 18SCFH on a flow meter. If you set the regulator at 20 - 25 PSI, the wind will knock over your workpiece. That's where I set my cutting oxygen.

2011年4月19日 · Currently i'm using pure Argon Gas to weld and i find it cleaner to use. My boss wants me to use C-25 cuz its cheaper to buy. Please help guys. Apperently we have a guy that comes in here and there and knows a lot about welding. He stated that we rather switch to C-25 cuz its cheaper. Also added that its messy to use.

Miller tech support told me that when they tested the 350P, that is the gas it worked best on. They said they're second choice is 95/5. If you're talking about the Optima pulser, it is designed to run on 95/5 for mild steel with solid wire.
