2024年12月13日 · Upon ignition, the bullets belly out into to rifling. Only problem with the White bullets is, they only come in heavy weight bullet. 480-600 grain bullets are what weights their super slugs are. The saboted bullets are lighter but not as accurate. The PB 295s are the most accurate bullets I've ever shot thru it.

The last time I stocked up I paid $25 for a box of 50 Hornady, 250 Grain SST bullets (same bullet as the Shockwave IMO) and $7 for a box of 50 Harvester Crushed Rib Sabots for a total of $32 or 64 cents per shot. 2005年11月2日 · The Ballistic Coefficient and Sectional Density of that load are poor at best, and not ideal for longrange shooting. There are far better choices for long range bullets on the market. Prbullets, SST's and Shockwaves are some examples. And really, heavier bullets in the 300 grain range are ideal for long range, despite what most people think.

2008年12月19日 · I've been hunting with a muzzleloader for around 20 years, started off with a .54 Hawken shooting round balls and have moved on to two in-lines, one a .54 TC Thunderhawk and most recently a .50 Encore. I've probably harvested 15 or so deer with Muzzy's and the only one that did not have a good blood trail was the Encore with powerbelts.

Ive been reading that the 290 and 300 gr bullets like 110 120 grain of BH, where the 250s like lower charges, likely due to extra spin needed from a 1:28 twist in the T/C.

2003年1月12日 · Regular bullets for muzzleloaders or Minnieballs as they were originaly called are much heavier than the smaller saboted bullets, They don't shoot as fast and they have more "drop" in their flight. But their heavier weight and larger diameter causes more terminal damage to your target ( some will argue with that).

2009年9月2日 · Nothing better than Barnes bullets imo. I use them in the muzzleloader, shotgun, and rifle. In the muzzleloader I use the 290 Gr MZ with the regular sabots, not the easy glides. Barnes are typically very accurate, but every gun is different and you may need to experiment with sabots etc. If your gun shoots them well, they are fantastic on game.

2011年11月27日 · The Barnes bullets that you are shooting are .451" in diameter. Off the top of my head and without looking, I don't have a clue what the diameter of the Shockwave is. It could be dangerous if the bullet diameters are not the same and a bullet disloged from the sabot but was still inside the barrel when you fired.

2009年12月1日 · Personally I like heavier bullets in muzzleloaders so the little 240's never interested me. In my Encore, I use the Barnes TMZ in 290 grains over 120 grains of BH209. You will simply not find a better bullet than the Barnes for muzzleloading, period.
