Pullulan - Wikipedia
Pullulan is a polysaccharide consisting of maltotriose units, also known as α-1,4- ;α-1,6-glucan'. Three glucose units in maltotriose are connected by an α-1,4 glycosidic bond, whereas consecutive maltotriose units are connected to each other by an α-1,6 glycosidic bond. Pullulan is produced from starch by the fungus Aureobasidium pullulans.
Pullulan in Skin Care: What It Is and Is It Safe? | Paula's Choice
Pullulan is a natural fibrous polymer produced by a type of black yeast known as Aureobasidium pullulans. It contains complex sugars known as polysaccharides, which makes it a good water-binding agent (i.e. hydration) and antioxidant in skin care products.
Pullulan (Film former): Cosmetic Ingredient INCI - SpecialChem
Pullulan is typically a fine, odorless powder that is white to off-white in color. It forms a thin film on the skin, providing a protective barrier and enhancing the longevity of makeup. Pullulan also has moisture-retaining properties, contributing to improved hydration and skin plumpness.
Why We Use Pullulan Capsules – Oregon's Wild Harvest
These naturally vegan capsules are made from pullulan, a tasteless, odorless, and biodegradable polymer derived from tapioca through fermentation with the black yeast Aureobasidium pullulans. Designed with a focus on sustainability, these capsules excel in performance, convenience, and eco-friendly sourcing.
