I suppose where most people would put a shoe rack or bench. I put my altar in that space so I always pass by it entering and leaving. It’s like the Jewish mezuzah.

It also works well to put it over the altar cloth as the glass is heat resistent and will save the cloth from the risk of spills, stains, and burns (e.g., wax is a lot easier to scrape off glass than to clean out of cloth and won't leave a stain).

Also since some of the rituals that may require you to be facing north, e.g. Circle of protection, you don't need to face the altar to do that.

网页I can't say that I've ever taken down an altar or shrine to the Gods. Moved them, definitely, but I don't think I've decommissioned an altar since the end of my Wiccan days.
