You can go from an econo clone swap for less than $700 up to a B&S vanguard as well as everything in between depending on you budget and fab skills. I would suggest looking at Vegascarts and CPP sites for some ideas as well as reading the big block section here on BGW to learn what is done and how.

I would say consider putting a clone in, you get twice the power and a new engine. Its some work installing it but once its done you will be impressed.

Re: G2 rear differential- fluid change? careful when you grease both clutches,, only 2 pumps, on the rear you can see in a few runs if it is enough on the shaft,, on my front i like to take the cover off and clean all rollers with wd40. put to much on rear and it will fling all over; on belt.

Loosen and remove the top and bottom bolts on the starter/generator and remove the belt. Leave the belt around the engine.
