WEBAug 31, 2014 · I'd say go ls, have a little higher initial investment for a much more efficient motor. I'm sure the wear and tear is greater on a sbc built to say 300hp as opposed to a ls motor which stock is around 300hp. Never seen a stock sbc handle 1000hp either

I have not done any LS motor builds yet, but have been reseaching them and I noticed right away that most people are using higher stall converters and lower rear end gearing with LS motors.
