I think Display Port 1.3 does 4k @ 120 so that may be the deal breaker

You’re gonna hate the file sizes and the work flow. Well, I would hate it exactly the same amount as people who have been doing 8K@30.

网页2021年1月23日 · 4K gaming is awesome when you're playing rpg type games. If you're only gonna start with one monitor, go with the high refresh 27" 1440p and then add in a 32" 4K later on. I like the dual monitor setup much more than an ultra wide. Also having a 32" monitor is very nice for doing actual work on a pc.

Ended up getting 4k 120hz 4:4:4 (SDR - my preference) working on a LG C3 OLED from my M1 macbook air with a thunderbolt caldigit t4 dock and a DP to HDMI adapter off the dock. So you are absolutely correct, only thing from Apple's specs thats true is that I am limited to 1 external monitor.
