Oct 14, 2006 · The annoying speech disc stays on despite the off button being highlighted in the speech preferences pane. I have restarted the computer but speech recognition will not die. Actually, I can kill it with Activity Monitor, but it reappears every time I restart. I have confirmed that I know how to turn Speech off and on with a second computer.

There is a huge appetite for it generally but it must be accurate and productive to be of use to people with physical motor disabilities. So the fight is not over. There are still many more improvements needed if our Apple gear is to be accessible as it should be.

May 13, 2023 · App using audio but it’s not in the list of apps for mic permissions I was going through my settings as I’m getting a whole lot of lag with a particular puzzle game and I noticed that in the battery breakdown it says it was using audio but the app isn’t in the list of apps that have requested permission to access the microphone.
