Open it and look on the top and see if it's started to separate. If not, it's OK to use. Even if it's separated some, you can still stir it up and use it. Moisture can then get into the bondo and cause rust and/or the paint to blister. I don't think it would happen within a matter of months but it will eventually cause a problem.
