WEBMar 15, 2008 · That's the original BONDO brand bondo, and from which the plastic body fillers got their slang name. It's good stuff for normal filling. Open it and look on the top and see if it's started to separate. If not, it's OK to use. Even if it's separated some, you can still stir it up and use it. You must use the correct amount of activator with it.

( I did many tests to confirm that the mixture was right and with different hardener tubes to make sure it wasn't the hardener) I remember bondo hardening ROCK HARD after 15 minutes.

WEBOct 18, 2014 · Bondo before. If you apply filler over the primer, as mentioned, look for a polyester glazing putty, as they are designed to do so. The typical bondo doesn't like to bond to paint/primers. And you'll be breaking through the epoxy primer when you block, that's actually what you look for initially.

WEBJul 2, 2008 · Careless. wire wheel the area with a corded drill and get put a lot of force into it and whipe that area 99.9% of rust, and then use the rust converter of any kind. Prime with a good etching primer THEN bondo. the whisk with primer again. all in thin coats.

I just need to fill in some pin holes in a fiberglass top I'm working on. The holes are few, and not very big which is why I don't want to buy another can of filler only to have it dry up as I won't be using very much.

WEBAug 10, 2005 · Bondo is porous even after it is cured. Since you won't be painting the back side the bondo will be exposed to moisture where it has filled the pin holes. Moisture can then get into the bondo and cause rust and/or the paint to blister. I don't think it would happen within a matter of months but it will eventually cause a problem.
