At home, we have an "upstairs bathroom" containing a bath, toilet & wash basin; and a (larger) "downstairs bathroom" containing a walk-in shower, toilet & wash basin. One could refer to a " shower room ", but personally (& possibly for no good reason) I tend to think of a shower room as not containing a toilet .

Another generic euphemism that is common in the US is "washroom". "Washroom" may be the most widespread euphemism that does not have the possibly misleading connotations that "bathroom" and "restroom" have.

2014年2月21日 · 'Lavatory' is the 'matter of fact' term that sanitary engineers would us if planning some of the public variety - 'public lavatories'. Aircraft toilets are often called 'lavatories'. I'm not sure why. 'Public convenience' (a bit dated) is the euphemism for a public lavatory.
