Store it if it will fit in a galvanized steel garbage can with lid. If the EMP is close enough or intense enough it could overwhelm the insulation on the windings and short them out.

In fact for the P2 and P3 phases of the pulse a gound could actually cause damage. By wrapping small electronics in the blanket with several layers it may just protect them.

Obviously this doesn’t work well on antennas, but is an extremely common way of protecting DC lines. A spark gap is way too slow for EMP.

With a dead inverter you have no power. If the inverter unit wasn't so expensive it would be nice having a spare.
