Oct 1, 2014 · I alway flush the tube before my feeds with 2 x 40 ml of water. I then flush the tube again after I finished the feed with 40 ml of water. Then I rub the tube between my fingers all along from one end to the other. I then flush again with another 40 ml of water. This prevents foods adhereing to the inside of the tube.

Jan 13, 2017 · Flushing say once weekly with soda water or similar can help release these particles. Another common problem is yeast within the tube or around the stoma. This does have a noticeable odour and can also cause pain. If it's at the stoma site, antifungal cream will work. You could see if changing the tube out makes a difference too.

The bag comes with some tubing, not to terribly long (shorter then the tubing on a foley bag), and it has what is kinda like a christmas tree thing, but it is slightly different, and that comes already on the end of the tubing, so that goes in my g-tube, and stick the bag on the other end of the tubing.

If it is, ask your physician/radiologist to help eliminate the bulk by replacing it with a smaller tube or surface level device (sometimes called a “button”) which can be covered for swimming. Jan 24, 2017 · My wife has a j-tube (gastroparesis), is scheduled for a colonoscopy -- her GI doc suggested she put "250 ml every 30 minutes" thru the j-tube (for a total of 4 liters)!! I don't think that is going to happen. We may try to infuse 125 ml/hour for 24 hours (that will give 3 liters).
