Java version of Minecraft can be played natively on Apple Silicon MacBook. Yes it is and it actually runs great as it’s Apple Silicon native. Java edition runs just fine on Macs. That's the Bedrock edition, that is not available on MacBooks. Sadly, I am tied to Bedrock, cause I play co-op with iPads und Playstation.

Juat make sure to adjust the RAM usage in the launcher per-pack. I run Java through Rosetta with 6gb ram allocated and I get ~60fps on 32 chunks 2560x1600 and a light shaders.

Idk how it is on m1 but on m1 pro with version 1.19 i jumped with fps from rough 50 (on 1.18) to 100-120 on the same settings. If you want to play other Versions of Minecraft download ManyMc instead.
