Things that helped (aside from ibuprofen, which is no use during pregnancy): coughing over shoulder - turn as if looking over shoulder when coughing. I was advised to do this by physiotherapist.

Am taking so many drugs, Vicks, tiger balm, hot water bottle, hot baths - the works! Really hoping tomorrow I wake up feeling slightly better at least.

网页2011年7月16日 · I had this in pregnancy, called a pulled intercostal muscle. GP said just grin and bear it, can take 6 weeks to recover which was the last thing I wanted to hear. The best thing I found was that if you need to cough, stand up as straight as possible with hands as if trying to touch ceiling, then cough..looks mad, but def a lot better. Good luck.

I broke a rib coughing once. it's awful especially if you keep coughing. it really affected my posture and walking too. all those core muscles that are connected. good that you have seen someone. cocodamol should help with the coughing impulse as well.

I found putting pressure around the ribs helped a lot, still do it if get a cough / am super tired as rib pain kicks back in. One of those elasticated back support type bandages on firmly has been a life saver at times.
