2005年8月4日 · Personally, i have never liked ProMark sticks. they just are not comfortable for me. as someone else mentioned above, they seem denser, heavier, and somewhat stiff - like there is no "give" in them when you play. Vic Firth, to me, have a much better feel. If I were you, I'd try a pair or two of each brand before buying a whole brick of them.

On the pair I have in front of me now, the actual balance point (where the stick will balance on my index finger) is between the C of Vic and the F of Firth, a little closer to the C.

2005年10月6日 · The Vic Firth Heritage (those with the purple rubber handle)are very similar. I also like the aforementioned Regal Tip "Sutter" model - it has stiffer wires for better rebound. Not recommended: Vic Firth Wire brushes (white handle).

The vic 5A barrel are another option. - Alternatively Vicfirth 5A Maple - lighter feel - Vater Jimmy Cobb sticks - very similar to Erskine Ride S. but slightly beefier - Erskine's newer BigBand sticks - still with a long taper but larger tip - these might be it for you!

However, they broke often, I don't like the finish that VF puts on their sticks (i find it uncomfortable and too slippery), and my music store jacked up the price of them above $12. So, I switched to Oak Pro-Mark 5As. I really like the pro-mark sticks.
