Green tea ice cream is one of my favorites and I think nettle has some similar flavors to matcha, the comparison is pretty spot on for the flavor of this ice cream. I used a pretty standard ice cream base. A cup of milk, two of cream, 3/4 of a cup of sugar, and 5 egg yolks. Added in 3 cups of chopped nettles! #foragecolorado #fo

Stings from stinging nettle can cause pins and needles (paresthesia) and hives (urticaria), despite that it's one of my favorite edible plants! So much so that I grow it in our garden as well! Nettles have opposite leaves that are serrated and progress from rounded to lanceolate as the plant matures. Those leaf stems have a small groove running down their petiole, and a decoration at the leaf node. The entire plant is covered in tiny stinging hairs (trichomes), with a concentration of them on th
